EDSFC girls play in the mixed Under 8 and Under 10 teams.
Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Open-age Women are all female only teams.

In 2016 girls’ football came to Essendon Doutta Stars – and what a season it was! The Under 12 Girls were runners up in the premiership, Josie Gleeson was a joint winner in the EDFL Best & Fairest and the girls played an exhibition game at Windy Hill during half-time of the EDFL Premier League Grand Final.
In 2017 we expanded to include an Under 15 team. These champions won the U15 Div 2 Grand Final in their first year! In 2018 we expanded again with Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18 teams. In 2019 we also added an open-age women’s team – they WON the Grand Final. In 2022 our Under 14 girls team also won their grand final (age groups had changed back to even numbers).
Training is held on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5 – 6 pm for the mixed teams and 5.30-6.30pm for Under 12’s and up. Junior games are generally played on Sundays.
Essendon Doutta Stars is a terrific, family-oriented club and if you would like to just come along and try a training session you’d be very welcome.
